The base plate is the structural core of the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo — the plate that the saddles, sustain block, string-lock hardware and tension plates all bolt to. When a Floyd Rose stops returning to pitch and no amount of spring adjustment or post height work fixes it, the knife edges are usually the cause. The knife edges live on this plate. Once they round over, the bridge cannot pivot cleanly and the system will not hold tune. Replacing the base plate is the fix.
This plate is specific to the 1000 Series. Saddles, blocks, string-lock inserts and tension plates are machined to their own plate geometry and do not cross over between series. Before ordering, confirm you are running a 1000 Series unit — not an Original, Special, or Pro Series. String count has to match as well. If any of those details are uncertain, pull the existing plate and compare it directly against the listing images before buying.
Material is hardened steel with a satin gold finish. Hardened steel at the knife edge is what determines how long the edges hold before they round, so it matters. Finish is satin gold — confirm your saddles, block and arm hardware match before ordering, or the finish mismatch will be obvious on the guitar.
If you are not certain this is the correct plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm it before you order.
