The base plate is the structural core of the tremolo. The saddles bolt to it, the block hangs from it, the studs pivot against its knife edges. When a 1000 Series bridge stops returning to pitch and setup adjustments change nothing, the knife edges on this plate are usually where the fault is. They round off over years of use and no amount of spring or action adjustment corrects that. Replacing the plate is the fix.
Fit is not flexible. This plate is cut for the 1000 Series and that series only. Saddles, sustain block, string-lock hardware and tension plates from other Floyd Rose series are not interchangeable with it — the geometry does not match. Before ordering, confirm your existing system is a 1000 Series. If you are pulling a worn plate from a complete bridge, match the series stamped on the old part, not just the brand name.
The plate is hardened steel with a satin black finish. Hardened steel at the knife edges is what the pivot life depends on — softer material rounds over faster under the lateral load of the arm. The satin black finish matches original 1000 Series hardware without the glare of a polished coat.
If you are not certain this is the right plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
