The Floyd Rose FR1NR3N is a replacement locking nut for the 1000 Series tremolo system. Its job is straightforward: clamp the strings at the headstock end so tuning changes happen at the saddles only, not at the string ends. Without a correctly fitting nut doing that clamping job solidly, the bridge cannot do its job.

Fit is decided by two measurements, not by the guitar brand or model name. First, the width of your existing nut slot — Floyd Rose sizes its locking nuts in a series (R2, R3, R4 and so on), and this part is an R3. Second, the radius of your fretboard. A nut that is too flat for your radius will leave the outer strings sitting proud of the clamping block; too curved and the centre strings get pinched. Neither situation can be adjusted away. Take both measurements off the guitar before ordering. If the old nut is already missing, measure the slot width and check the fretboard radius directly.

The nut is hardened steel with a nickel finish, matching the plating of standard 1000 Series hardware. Hardened steel resists the deformation that comes from repeated string clamping over years of use — a soft nut seat rounds out and the block stops pulling evenly across all six strings.
