The Floyd Rose FR1NR2G is a hardened steel locking nut in gold finish, designed for the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo system. It clamps the strings at the headstock end of the neck, cutting that section of string out of the tuning equation entirely — once the clamps are down, the bridge and fine tuners are doing all the work. If the nut on your current 1000 Series is cracked, stripped at the clamping screws, or simply not locking cleanly anymore, this is the direct replacement.
Fit comes down to two things: neck width at the nut slot and fretboard radius. Floyd Rose sizes its nuts by a code — R2, R3, R4 and so on — that corresponds to the nut width. This part is an R2. Get that wrong and you will either crowd the outer strings toward the fretboard edge or leave them sitting proud, buzzing against the first fret no matter how you set the action. Measure the width of the slot on your existing nut before ordering. Do not go from the guitar model alone; the same model has shipped with different nut sizes across production runs.
The nut is hardened steel throughout, which matters because the clamping screws bear down directly on it every time you lock up. Softer material walks and distorts at the clamping points over time. The gold finish matches 1000 Series hardware in gold.
If you are not certain which size fits your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will point you at the right part.
