The locking nut clamps the strings at the headstock end of the neck, taking string tension out of the equation once the bridge is in tune. Without a solid clamp at this end, fine tuners on the bridge can compensate for small drift, but a worn or wrong-sized nut undermines the whole system. This is a genuine Floyd Rose 1000 Series replacement, finished in nickel, made from hardened steel.

Fit is decided by two things: the width of your nut slot and your fretboard radius. Floyd Rose designates nut width by size code — R2, R3, R4 and so on. FR1NR2N is the R2 width. If you fit the wrong width, strings will either crowd the fretboard edge or sit too close together. If the radius doesn't match, the outer strings sit proud of the clamping block and you get buzzing that no amount of setup work will fix. Do not order by guitar model. Measure the existing nut, or measure the slot, before you buy.

Hardened steel resists the deformation that kills softer nuts over time. The nickel finish matches original 1000 Series hardware. If your current nut has stripped block screws or a cracked body, this is a direct swap — provided the size code matches.
