The bridge mounting studs and inserts are the pivot point the entire floating system rocks on. When a Floyd Rose 1000 Series bridge won't return to pitch and the springs, locking nut and saddles check out, the studs are the next suspect — a worn contact surface or a stud that has shifted in its insert puts a kink in the whole system. This set replaces both studs and inserts, in hardened steel with a nickel finish, for the 1000 Series.
The fit question here is not the bridge — it's the insert already pressed into your body. Stud and insert diameters are not consistent across Floyd Rose series, and metric versus imperial bodies use different specifications. The insert sitting in your guitar determines which stud fits. If you pull the wrong stud, it will either rattle in the insert or not thread in at all. Swapping inserts means pulling the old ones out of the body, which is a bench job — not a string change. Check which series your bridge is before ordering.
The studs are hardened steel. A soft stud will groove at the knife-edge contact points over time and introduce the same pitch return problems as a worn knife edge. If you're seeing wear on the existing studs, check the knife edges on the bridge plate at the same time.
If you're not certain this set fits your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we'll confirm before you order.
