The FR1NR2C is a hardened steel locking nut in chrome finish, part of the Floyd Rose 1000 Series. Its job is to clamp the strings at the headstock end so tuning changes made at the bridge stay locked in — the nut takes string movement at that end of the system out of the equation entirely.

Fit is decided by two things: the width of your nut slot and your fretboard radius. Floyd Rose sizes locking nuts by width designation — this is an R2. Get that wrong and the result is strings crowding the fretboard edge, or outer strings sitting proud of the nut saddles and buzzing. A guitar model name is not enough to go on here; nut slots vary even within the same production run. Measure the nut slot width on your existing nut before ordering, and confirm the radius matches.

The nut body is hardened steel. The chrome finish matches standard 1000 Series hardware. If your original nut has worn clamping surfaces or a cracked body, this is a direct replacement — same series, same spec.
