The FR1NR2SC is a Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking nut in satin chrome. It replaces the nut at the headstock end of a Floyd Rose–equipped neck, clamping the strings at zero so tuning changes at the machine heads no longer affect pitch once the clamp is tightened. If your existing nut is cracked, stripped at the clamp screws, or buzzing because the saddle surface is worn, this is the part that fixes it.

Fit is decided by two things: the width of the nut slot in your neck and the radius of your fretboard. Floyd Rose designates nut widths with an R-number — this part is R2. A nut that is too narrow pushes the outer strings toward the edge of the fretboard. A nut ground to the wrong radius leaves the outer strings sitting high and buzzing against the clamp block. Neither problem corrects with setup. Measure the width of the nut currently in the guitar before ordering; do not rely on the guitar model to tell you the size.

The nut is hardened steel finished in satin chrome. Hardened steel resists the deformation that soft alloy nuts develop over time at the string-lock screws — once those threads strip, the clamp loses torque and the tuning stability goes with it.
