Ibanez built the JSM10VYS as part of the JSM Signature Series, positioning it within the Artstar-grade hollow body line. The model carried a flamed maple top, back, and sides over a hollow body construction, and was finished in Vintage Yellow Sunburst.
The neck is a three-piece Nyatoh and Maple set-in construction with a 628 mm (24.7") scale length, a bone nut measuring 43 mm at the first fret, and a 305 mm radius ebony fretboard with 22 medium frets, acrylic and abalone block inlays, and Artstar fret edge treatment. Hardware throughout is gold-finished, including a Gibraltar Artist bridge with 10.5 mm string spacing, a Quik Change III tailpiece, and paired Super 58 passive Alnico humbuckers at both neck and bridge positions. Factory stringing is standard E-to-E at gauges .010/.013/.017/.030/.042/.052.
Owners sourcing replacement hardware should note the Gibraltar Artist bridge dimensions and the Quik Change III tailpiece specification when sourcing compatible parts; a qualified luthier or guitar technician can advise on fitting tolerances and setup adjustments for this instrument.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
