Ibanez built the LGB30VYS as part of the GB Signature Series, positioning it as a hollow body electric guitar within the Artstar tier of the Ibanez line. The LGB30VYS carried the Vintage Yellow Sunburst finish designation and was designed around the tonal and aesthetic priorities of the GB Signature Series.
The guitar was constructed with a spruce top over flamed maple back and sides, and a three-piece Nyatoh/Maple set-in neck profiled to LGB30 specifications. The bound ebony fretboard carries acrylic and abalone block inlays across 20 medium frets, with Artstar fret edge treatment applied to the ends. Scale length is 628mm (24.7"), the nut is bone cut to 43mm width, and the fretboard radius is 305mm. Neck thickness measures 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the ninth. The Gibraltar Artist bridge is set to a 10.5mm string spacing and pairs with the LGB30 tailpiece. Electronics consist of two passive, Alnico-loaded Super 58 humbuckers — one at the neck position, one at the bridge — with all hardware finished in gold. The guitar shipped strung with .011–.050 gauge strings in standard tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Super 58 pickup units, bone nut blanks sized to the 43mm width, or Gibraltar Artist bridge saddles — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier who can verify compatibility against the instrument's current condition and tolerances.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
