Ibanez built the JSM100VT as part of the JSM Signature Series, positioning it as a hollow body electric guitar within their Prestige-level offering. The model carried a Vintage Sunburst finish and was designed around a full hollow body construction, reflecting the tonal and aesthetic priorities of the signature it represented.
The JSM100VT was constructed with an African Mahogany neck joined via a set-in joint, with a figured Anigre top, back, and sides. The bound ebony fretboard featured acrylic and abalone block inlays and jumbo frets finished with Ibanez's Prestige fret edge treatment. The nut measured 43.5mm in width and was constructed from a half-bone, half-brass composition. Scale length ran 628mm (24.7"). Neck thickness measured 20.2mm at the first fret and 23.3mm at the twelfth, with a compound radius fretboard. The guitar shipped strung with a heavy .013–.052 gauge set in standard tuning. Hardware throughout was finished in gold, and included a Gotoh 510BN bridge with 10.4mm string spacing and a Gotoh GE101A tailpiece. Pickups were a matched pair of passive, Alnico-magnet Super 58 humbuckers at both the neck and bridge positions.
Owners requiring setup work, fret service, or help sourcing compatible Gotoh bridge or tailpiece components should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with hollow body instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
