Ibanez produced the AF75VSB as part of the AF Series, positioning it within the Artcore hollow body line. The AF Series represented Ibanez's approach to fully hollow electric guitar construction, and the AF75VSB carried the Vintage Sunburst finish designation within that range.
The guitar was built around a fully hollow linden body with linden top, back, and sides, paired with a set-in nyatoh neck bearing the AF Artcore profile. The bound walnut fretboard runs 20 medium frets at a 305mm radius over a 628mm (24.7") scale length, with acrylic block inlays for position marking. Nut width measures 43mm. Body width reaches 15¾" with a maximum depth of 3⅝", and fretboard thickness measures 21mm at the first fret and 24mm at the ninth. A Gibraltar Performer bridge sits at 10.5mm string spacing, paired with a VT60 tailpiece. Electronics consist of two passive ceramic Classic Elite humbucker pickups — one at the neck, one at the bridge — with chrome hardware throughout. The guitar left the factory strung with a .010–.052 gauge set in standard E tuning.
