Ibanez built the SEW761MCWNTF as part of the S Series line, a range long associated with thin, lightweight body construction and fast, slim neck profiles. The model carried a figured Black Walnut top over a Meranti body, paired with a Wizard III neck and fretboard, both in Roasted Maple — a combination that placed it toward the premium end of the S Series tier.
The neck runs a 648 mm / 25.5" scale with a 400 mm radius fretboard, 24 jumbo frets, and a 43 mm nut width. Offset black acrylic pearl dot inlays mark the positions. The pickup complement is an HSS arrangement: DiMarzio True Velvet single-coils at the neck and middle positions, and a DiMarzio The Tone Zone humbucker at the bridge — all passive, all Alnico. String spacing at the F106 bridge is 10.5 mm. Hardware throughout is finished in black. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard E tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the F106 bridge accepts strings spaced at 10.5 mm, and the 43 mm nut width will govern compatible replacement nuts. For setup adjustments, intonation, or any structural work, consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with thin-body double-cutaway instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
