Ibanez built the RGDR4327NTF as part of the RGD Prestige Series, a line positioned at the upper tier of the RGD range and distinguished by its extended-scale, seven-string configuration and Prestige-grade construction and finishing standards. The Natural Flat finish placed it among the more understated offerings in the series.
The guitar was constructed around a five-piece Maple and Wenge Wizard-7 neck reinforced with KTS TITANIUM rods, paired with an African Mahogany body topped with Richlite. The bound Macassar Ebony fretboard carried off-set Luminlay dot inlays and ran to 24 jumbo frets with Prestige fret edge treatment, over a 430mm radius. The 48mm locking nut and 673mm (26.5") scale length defined the playing geometry, with neck dimensions measuring 19mm thick at the first fret and 21mm at the twelfth, widening from 48mm at the nut to 68mm at the 24th fret. A Lo-Pro Edge 7 tremolo bridge with 10.8mm string spacing handled vibrato duties, and two DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 passive ceramic humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — provided the pickup configuration. Hardware throughout was finished in black. The guitar left the factory tuned 1D–2A–3F–4C–5G–6D–7A and strung with D'Addario EXL110-7s (.010–.059).
