Description

Ibanez built the S671ALBBAB as part of the S Axion Label series, positioning it as a high-specification instrument within the S-body line. The Axion Label designation placed it above the standard S series, reflecting the active Fishman Fluence pickup system and premium tonewoods selected for the configuration.

The guitar is built around a Nyatoh body joined to a five-piece Panga Panga/Walnut Nitro Wizard neck — a construction chosen for stiffness and stability. The bound Macassar Ebony fretboard carries 24 jumbo Sub Zero treated frets with white step off-set dot inlays, a 400mm radius, and a 43mm nut width tapering to 58mm at the 24th fret. Neck profile dimensions run 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the 12th. The 648mm/25.5" scale length feeds into a Gibraltar Standard II bridge set at 10.8mm string spacing. Pickup duties fall to a three-pickup Fishman Fluence arrangement: a Modern Humbucker at the neck (Active/Alnico), a Single Width at the middle (Active/Ceramic), and a Modern Humbucker at the bridge (Active/Ceramic). Hardware throughout is finished in black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard E tuning.

Owners requiring fret work, pickup system servicing, or hardware replacement should consult a qualified guitar technician, as the active Fishman Fluence system and Sub Zero treated frets each have specific service considerations.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
