Ibanez built the GAX30TCR as part of the AX Gio series, positioning it as an entry-level electric guitar within the broader AX body family. The Gio designation placed it at the accessible end of Ibanez's electric guitar lineup.
The guitar is constructed with a basswood body and a maple neck carrying a jatoba fretboard with white block inlays. Twenty-two medium frets sit over a 305mm radius board with a nut width of 43mm, widening to 56mm at the 22nd fret; neck thickness measures 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the 12th. The 628mm (24.7") scale feeds into a Gibraltar Performer bridge with 10.5mm string spacing and a Quik Change III tailpiece. Two Infinity R ceramic humbucker pickups — one at the neck, one at the bridge — run passive circuits, and all hardware is finished in chrome. The guitar left the factory strung with a .010–.046 set in standard E tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Gibraltar Performer bridge accepts standard tune-o-matic-style saddles, and the Quik Change III tailpiece is a known Ibanez fit — a guitar technician or qualified luthier can advise on direct replacements and setup tolerances for this scale and string spacing.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
