Ibanez positioned the SRSC806DTF within the SR Workshop Series, a line built around premium tonewoods and through-neck construction for players seeking extended-range instruments. The six-string bass carried the Deep Twilight Flat finish and was built around a neck-through architecture, placing it toward the upper tier of the SR family.
The SRSC806DTF was constructed with a five-piece Maple/Purpleheart neck running through an Okoume wing body, topped with a Poplar Burl top. The Purpleheart fretboard carries Avalon oval inlays across 24 medium frets at a 400mm radius, with a 34-inch scale and 54mm nut width. Pickup duties fall to a pair of passive Bartolini MK-1 pickups at neck and bridge positions, paired with an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ for active tone shaping. The MR5 bridge is set at 18mm string spacing, and all hardware is finished in black. The bass ships factory-tuned B–E–A–D–G–C with D'Addario strings gauged .130/.105/.085/.065/.045/.032.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Bartolini MK-1 pickup covers, MR5 bridge saddles, or Purpleheart fretboard care products — should consult the measurements documented here alongside a qualified luthier or bass technician for fit and setup guidance.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
