Ibanez built the SR2400FNL as part of the SR Premium Series, positioning it toward the upper tier of the SR bass line. The model carried the Florid Natural Low Gloss finish and was configured as a four-string instrument.
The neck was a five-piece Atlas-4 construction combining Panga Panga and Purpleheart with KTS Titanium reinforcement rods. A Figured Maple and Panga Panga top sat over an African Mahogany body. The bound Panga Panga fretboard ran 24 medium frets with Premium fret edge treatment and Abalone oval inlays, at a 305mm radius and a 34-inch scale. Nut width measured 38mm, widening to 62mm at the 24th fret, with neck thickness of 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the 12th. The Graph Tech BLACK TUSQ XL nut fed into a 19mm string spacing at the MR5S bridge. Electronics consisted of a pair of passive Aguilar Super Double pickups — one at the neck, one at the bridge — running into the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, which included an EQ bypass switch, a passive tone control on the treble pot, and a 3-way mid-frequency switch. Hardware throughout was finished in gold. The instrument shipped strung with D'Addario EXL165 strings gauged .045/.065/.085/.105 in standard E–A–D–G tuning.
Owners requiring setup work, fret maintenance, or hardware sourcing should consult a qualified luthier or bass technician familiar with premium-tier instruments of this construction.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
