- Cerulean Blue Burst Low Gloss
Ibanez built the BTB845CBL as part of the BTB Series, a line positioned around extended-range, through-neck construction and higher-specification hardware aimed at players requiring a longer scale and broader tonal palette from a five-string platform. The Cerulean Blue Burst Low Gloss finish placed it toward the upper end of the BTB range's aesthetic options.
The instrument was built around a five-piece Maple and Walnut neck-through construction, with a Poplar Burl top over an Ash and Okoume wing body. The Jatoba fretboard carries abalone dot inlays and runs to 24 medium stainless steel frets plus a zero fret, with a 400mm radius and a 35-inch scale length. The nut width measures 47mm, widening to 76mm at the 24th fret, with neck thickness running 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the twelfth. String spacing at the bridge is 19mm. Pickup duties are handled by a pair of passive Bartolini BH2 units — one at the neck, one at the bridge — feeding into an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ. The MR5 bridge and Cosmo black hardware complete the assembly. The instrument left the factory strung with D'Addario NYXL45130 strings (.045/.065/.080/.100/.130) in standard five-string tuning B–E–A–D–G.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including MR5 bridge components, Bartolini BH2-compatible pickups, or stainless steel medium fretwire to the original spec — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier for fit verification and setup.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
