Ibanez produced the M510OVS as part of its entry-level mandolin range, positioning it as an A-style instrument finished in Open Pore Vintage Sunburst. The Open Pore treatment leaves the wood surface with a reduced-fill finish rather than a fully built-up gloss coat, distinguishing this variant from the standard gloss versions in the same M510 family.
The body is constructed with a spruce top braced in an X-pattern, paired with sapele back and sides. The okoume neck meets a purpleheart fretboard that runs to 20 frets, with a flat radius across the board. The nut width is 30mm and the scale length is 350mm. Neck depth measures 22.5mm at the first fret and 24.5mm at the seventh.
