Ibanez produced the M510EBS as an A-style acoustic-electric mandolin positioned in the accessible tier of their mandolin range. The instrument was built around a spruce top with sapele back and sides, X bracing, and an okoume neck, offering amplified capability through an onboard magnetic single pickup with a standard 1/4" output jack.
The purpleheart fretboard and bridge give the M510EBS a distinctive look, complemented by ivory body binding and a gloss finish across the top, back, sides, and neck back. The fretboard runs 20 frets over a 350mm scale, with a flat radius, 30mm nut width, and 10mm string spacing. Neck dimensions measure 22mm at the first fret and 24.5mm at the seventh. Chrome mandolin tuners handle the eight bronze strings. The body length runs 13½", with a maximum depth of 2".
