Description

Washburn built the WG7SCE-O-U as part of the Harvest Series, positioned as the acoustic-electric counterpart to the G7S. It shared the same tonewoods and construction as that sibling model while adding onboard electronics, placing it in the electro-acoustic segment of the Harvest lineup. The body follows a Grand Auditorium shape with a cutaway for upper-fret reach.

The top is solid spruce, braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing. Back and sides are mahogany, and the neck — finished in satin — is also mahogany, fitted with a two-way truss rod. The fretboard and bridge are both ovangkol, with dot inlays across 20 frets. The nut is ABS at 1-11/16" width, and the scale runs 25-1/2". A Washburn Heritage rosette and gloss body finish complete the exterior. Chrome diecast tuners and chrome hardware are fitted throughout. The instrument ships strung with D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze strings. Electronics are handled by a Barcus-Berry EQ4T preamp system, which provides a four-band EQ, built-in chromatic tuner, phase switch, and a notch dial for feedback control when amplified.

Owners requiring setup work, fret dressing, or help sourcing replacement parts — including compatible Barcus-Berry EQ4T components, ovangkol bridge saddles, or ABS nut blanks suited to the 1-11/16" width — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
