Washburn built the WCG15SCE12-O-U as part of its Comfort Series, positioning it as a player-ergonomic 12-string acoustic-electric within a Grand Auditorium cutaway body. A defining feature of the Comfort Series was the re-curved ergonomic armrest bevel at the lower bout; on this model, that bevel was integrated into the mahogany binding. A Venetian cutaway provided access to the upper frets, and the Fishman Presys+ 501T preamp system made the guitar suitable for amplified performance as well as acoustic play.
The book-matched solid Sitka spruce top was braced with Washburn's Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X pattern and dressed with a Parquet 3-ring rosette of alternating maple and mahogany. The back and sides were mahogany, with a maple/mahogany/maple strip dividing the book-matched back. The satin mahogany neck carried a two-way truss rod and an Ovangkol fretboard with 20 frets; the nut was bone at 1-7/8" width, and scale length ran 25-5/16". The mahogany-bound Ovangkol bridge, bone nut, and 18:1 black tuners with black buttons completed the hardware complement. Electronics were handled by the Fishman Presys+ 501T, with controls for volume, bass, mid, treble, notch, mic blend, and phase, plus an integrated chromatic tuner. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXP light phosphor bronze 12-string strings and was finished in gloss natural.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, bone nut replacements, or compatible Fishman Presys+ replacement parts should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with 12-string acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
