Description

Washburn built the WCG20SCE-O-U as part of its Comfort Series, positioning it as a player-focused Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric with a defining ergonomic feature: a mahogany armrest bevel binding on the lower bout, designed to eliminate the sharp body edge that would otherwise press into the forearm during extended play.

The body pairs a solid Sitka spruce top, braced with a Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X pattern, with Pau Ferro back and sides. A single cutaway provides access to the upper register of the 20-fret Ovangkol fretboard, which is joined by an Ovangkol bridge and a bone nut at 1-11/16" width. The satin mahogany neck carries a two-way truss rod and a 25-5/16" scale. Electronics are handled by a Fishman Presys II 301T preamp with an integrated tuner, offering volume, bass, treble, and phase controls. Hardware throughout is chrome, including diecast tuners. The guitar ships strung with a D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze set, and the natural gloss finish is applied over the full instrument.

Owners requiring setup adjustments, fret work, or help sourcing compatible bridge pins, saddles, or nut blanks dimensioned to the 1-11/16" nut width and Ovangkol bridge specification should consult a qualified guitar technician.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
