The J40SCE is a Jumbo acoustic guitar with cutaway for superior upper fret access. It features a solid Sitka spruce top with Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X bracing for superior tone that improves with age, beautiful Flame Maple back and sides, a mahogany neck with a Ovangkol fingerboard and bridge, gold die-cast tuners for quick, easy and accurate tuning, a Washburn tortoise pick guard and a Washburn Heritage rosette.
The J40SCE features visually stunning Flame Maple for its back and side wood. Maple is a bright sounding tone wood that works perfectly with the Jumbo body style, bringing some high end focus to this big, loud sounding guitar. Thanks to its built-in deluxe Fishman Presys+ 501T Tuner/Preamp, you’ll never need to carry around an extra tuner. The preamp features volume, bass, middle, treble and brilliance control for natural amplified acoustic tone, plus a phase switch and notch control to deal with feedback issues.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
