Washburn built the HD10SCETB-O-U as part of its Heritage Series, positioning it as a dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric suited to players who need access to the upper register without sacrificing the full-bodied projection the dreadnought platform provides. The cutaway body configuration and onboard Fishman Presys II 301T preamp system made it a practical choice for stage use within the Heritage lineup.
The top is solid Sitka spruce braced with Washburn's Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X pattern. Back, sides, and neck are mahogany, with the neck finished in satin and fitted with a two-way truss rod. The fretboard and bridge are Ovangkol, dressed with dot inlays across 20 frets. Nut material is GraphTech Nubone at a 1‑11/16" width, and the scale runs 25‑5/16". Tuners are chrome diecast. Electronics consist of an under-saddle transducer feeding the Fishman Presys II 301T, which provides volume, bass, mid, and treble controls alongside a phase switch for feedback management and an onboard tuner. The rosette is the Washburn Heritage pattern, hardware throughout is chrome, and the body carries a gloss Tobacco Burst finish. Strings were factory-fitted with D'Addario EXP light-gauge phosphor bronze.
