Washburn built the HF11SCE-O-U as part of its Heritage Series, positioning it as a folk-body cutaway acoustic-electric aimed at fingerpickers and singer-songwriters who required both the articulation of a smaller body and upper-fret access. The cutaway configuration and onboard Fishman electronics extended the instrument's usefulness to amplified performance and studio recording contexts.
The top is solid Western Red Cedar, braced with Washburn's Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X pattern — a construction the manufacturer associated with tonal improvement over time. Back and sides are mahogany, matched by a satin mahogany neck fitted with a two-way truss rod. The fretboard and bridge are Ovangkol, with dot inlays across 20 frets. The nut is GraphTech NuBone at 1-11/16" width, and the scale runs 25-5/16". Chrome diecast tuners handle tuning stability. The Washburn Heritage rosette and a Washburn tortoise pickguard complete the aesthetic details. Electronics are handled by a Fishman Presys II 301T under-saddle transducer system, which provides an integrated chromatic tuner alongside volume, bass, mid, and treble controls and a phase switch for feedback management. Strings are D'Addario EXP light-gauge phosphor bronze. All hardware is finished in chrome, and the overall finish is gloss natural.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the GraphTech NuBone nut, Ovangkol saddle, or Fishman Presys II preamp components — should verify compatibility against the exact measurements of their instrument before fitting. For setup adjustments, truss rod work, or electronics servicing, consult a qualified guitar technician.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
