Schecter built the Keith Merrow KM-6 Mk-III Hybrid as a signature six-string in their artist series, developed in collaboration with progressive metal guitarist Keith Merrow. The instrument was manufactured in South Korea and positioned as a high-specification neck-through design, carrying the Mk-III Hybrid designation within the KM-6 lineage.
Construction is neck-through with ultra access, using a three-piece maple neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods and a mahogany body with a radius top contour and black single-ply binding. The ebony fretboard runs 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets across a 12"-16" compound radius, with a 25.5" (648mm) scale length. The Ultra Thin 'C' neck profile measures .748" (19mm) at the first fret and .787" (20mm) at the twelfth. The 1.653" (42mm) Ernie Ball Compensated Nut, Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, and aluminum offset/reverse circle inlays round out the fretboard appointments. Electronics consist of two Fishman Fluence Keith Merrow humbuckers routed through a single volume control and three-way switch, powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Hardware throughout is black, including Schecter locking tuners, metal knurled knobs with set screws, and a Hipshot hardtail bridge with string-through-body anchoring. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.
