Schecter built the Keith Merrow KM-6 MK-III Standard as a production-level entry in the KM signature series, positioning it below the artist-grade MK-III Artist while retaining the core specifications developed with the guitarist. The model shipped with a bolt-on construction and a swamp ash body, finished in Stealth Grey with black 1-ply binding and a radius top contour.
The three-piece maple neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods and carried an ebony fretboard with a 25.5" (648mm) scale, 24 X-Jumbo frets, and a 12"-16" compound radius. Neck thickness measured .763" (19.4mm) at the first fret and .822" (20.9mm) at the twelfth, profiled as an Ultra Thin 'C'. The Ernie Ball Compensated Nut sat at 1.653" (42mm) width, and a 2-way adjustable truss rod with heel-access spoke wheel allowed neck relief adjustments without full disassembly. A Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge with string-through-body anchoring paired with Schecter Diamond KM humbuckers at both positions; a volume control, 3-way pickup switch, and 2-way coil-split toggle governed the signal path. Hardware throughout was finished in black, with metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. Schecter tuners, Red 'Predator' fretboard inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers completed the specification. The guitar was strung from the factory with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.
