Schecter positioned the V-1 Platinum as a high-specification instrument within their Platinum series, built in South Korea with a set-neck construction featuring Ultra Access. The body is mahogany with an arched top and black multi-ply binding, paired with a three-piece maple neck in a Thin 'C' profile.
The 25.5" scale ebony fretboard carries 24 X-jumbo frets at a 14" radius, with Platinum 'Tempest' inlays and a 42mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. A two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" Allen nut. The TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic bridge is paired with string-through-body anchoring, and an EMG 57 bridge pickup and EMG 66 neck pickup run on a 9-volt clip-in battery. Controls are arranged as Volume/Volume/Tone with a 3-way switch; knobs are metal knurled with set screws. Schecter locking tuners and black hardware complete the specification. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings.
Owners requiring setup work, fret service, or guidance on compatible replacement parts — including TonePros T3BT components, EMG active pickups, Graph Tech Tusq nuts, or Ernie Ball string gauges — should consult a qualified guitar technician.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
