Description

Schecter positioned the Damien Platinum-6 as a high-output, feature-laden electric guitar within its Damien Platinum series, built in South Korea with a set-neck construction and Ultra Access heel joint. The mahogany body carries an arched top and silver/platinum multi-ply binding, while the three-piece maple neck joins it via a set-neck joint designed to allow deep upper-fret reach.

The 25.5-inch scale rosewood fretboard runs 24 X-jumbo frets with a 14-inch radius and Platinum Bat inlays, and is anchored at the headstock by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measuring 1.653 inches (42mm) wide — a dimension compatible with standard replacement nuts of that width. Tuning is handled by Grover tuners, and the two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32-inch (4mm) Allen key. The Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body stringing pairs with satin chrome hardware throughout. Pickups are an EMG 81 at the bridge and EMG 85 at the neck, both active, drawing power from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment; controls are a standard volume/tone arrangement with a 3-way switch and metal knurled knobs secured by set screws. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings.

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Tune-O-Matic bridge saddles, Graph Tech nut blanks, EMG active pickup hardware, or Grover tuner buttons — should verify fit against the measurements above and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup or routing work.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
