Description

Schecter positioned the C-1 Platinum at the upper tier of their C-1 series, building it around a mahogany body with a quilted maple top and a set-neck construction featuring Ultra Access. The guitar was produced in South Korea and finished in Satin Transparent Midnight Blue, with silver/platinum multi-ply binding and satin chrome hardware throughout.

The three-piece maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile and measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret, tapering to .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. It terminates at a 42mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and runs a 25.5" (648mm) scale across an ebony fretboard with a 14" (355mm) radius, 24 X-jumbo frets, and Platinum 'Tempest' inlays. Anchoring the strings is a TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic with string-through-body stringing, paired with Schecter locking tuners. Active electronics consist of an EMG 57 at the bridge and an EMG 66 at the neck, routed through a volume/volume/tone layout with a 3-way selector; a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the system. The two-way adjustable truss rod takes a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. Strings were shipped as Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, TonePros T3BT hardware, or EMG active pickups — should verify fit against these original specifications and consult a qualified guitar technician for installation and setup work.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
