Schecter positioned the C-1 Platinum as a high-specification entry in its C-1 series, built around a mahogany body with an arched quilted maple top and a three-piece maple neck joined to the body via a set-neck construction with Ultra Access. The guitar was manufactured in South Korea and finished in See-Thru Black Satin, with silver/platinum multi-ply binding and satin chrome hardware throughout.
The 25.5-inch scale neck carries a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-jumbo frets, a 14-inch radius, and a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. The 42mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut feeds into Grover tuners. Inlays are platinum offset dots with a Gothic Cross at the twelfth fret. The bridge is a Tune-O-Matic with string-through-body anchoring, and the active pickup complement consists of an EMG 81 at the bridge and an EMG 85 at the neck, controlled by a volume knob, a tone knob, and a three-way switch — all on metal knurled knobs with set screws. A 9-volt clip-in battery compartment serves the active electronics. The guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings, and the case (SGR-1C) was sold separately.
