Schecter positioned the PT Special within its lineup as a single-pickup-format solidbody drawing on vintage Telecaster-style architecture. Built in South Korea with a swamp ash body and a bolt-on maple neck, the guitar carried a flat-top contour, creme 1-ply binding, and nickel hardware throughout.
The neck profiles a C-shape at .826" at the first fret and .905" at the twelfth, topped with a rosewood fretboard carrying 22 X-Jumbo frets at a 12" radius. Mother of Pearl dot inlays mark the positions. The 1.653" (42mm) Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut feeds into a 25.5" (648mm) scale length. Grover Vintage tuners handle tuning stability at the headstock, while the vintage ashtray bridge with staggered brass saddles anchors the strings at the body.
