Schecter positioned the PT Fastback as a hardtail, bolt-on electric guitar within its PT (Paleo Texas) line, built on an alder body with a flat-top contour and ivory single-ply binding. The model was manufactured in Indonesia and offered in Gloss Black with chrome hardware throughout.
The neck is maple with a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and carries a maple fretboard with block inlays across 22 X-Jumbo frets at a 14" (355mm) radius. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.653" (42mm) width, with a 2-way adjustable truss rod accessed via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. The 25.5" (648mm) scale feeds into a Diamond Hardtail bridge. Both pickup positions run Schecter Diamond UltraTron units, wired through a 3-way switch with two volume and two push-pull tone controls, all on Bell knobs. Grover tuners handle machine head duties, and strings left the factory as Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Diamond Hardtail bridge, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, and Grover tuners are all standard-format components; a qualified guitar technician can advise on dimensional compatibility when sourcing equivalents.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
