Schecter positioned the C-1 E/A (Item 640) as a dual-source electric guitar within its C-1 series, built in South Korea with a set-neck construction featuring Ultra Access. The instrument combined magnetic and piezoelectric pickup systems, allowing the player to use each independently or blended through a three-way output switch.
The body was mahogany with a flamed maple arched top and natural binding, paired with a three-piece mahogany neck in a Thin 'C' profile. The 25.5" scale rosewood fretboard carried 24 extra-jumbo frets, mother of pearl dot inlays, and a 14" radius, with a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut at 42mm width. A Fishman Powerbridge handled piezo output, paired with a TonePros T1Z tailpiece, while a Schecter Diamond Plus humbucker occupied each the bridge and neck positions for the magnetic side. The control layout comprised separate volume and tone knobs for each source — the magnetic tone knob functioning as a push-pull — along with a three-way magnetic pickup selector and the three-way output selector. A 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powered the piezo circuit. Tuning was handled by Grover tuners, and the guitar shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046. Hardware throughout was chrome. The SGR-1C case was sold separately.
