Description

The Schecter 6139 Sunset Strip-8 is a ceramic-magnet bridge pickup for eight-string guitar. It is wound to 13.0k ohms and wired with a 4-conductor harness, which means the coils can be split — you get a high-output humbucking signal or a single-coil voice without rewiring the guitar. The magnet is a ceramic 8 direct-couple construction mounted to a solid nickel/silver baseplate.

Two things decide whether this pickup fits your guitar. First, string count: this is an eight-string pickup. It will not correctly cover the string spread on a six- or seven-string instrument. Second, pole spacing: bridge pickups run wider than neck pickups, and this one is spec'd at 72mm universal spacing. Measure the distance between your outer pole pieces on the existing pickup before ordering — if your guitar is direct-mounted rather than ring-mounted, also confirm the screw pattern matches your body route, because the hardware is not the same.

Pole pieces are eight nickel-plated carbon steel units at 0.1875" diameter, plus eight #5 slot pan-head Phillips nickel-plated carbon steel screws. The ceramic magnet delivers higher output than an Alnico without the mid-range compression an Alnico introduces — useful if you are running a heavily distorted signal and need note definition under gain.

If you are not certain this is the right pickup for your instrument, send us the make, model, and year of your guitar and we will sort it out.
