Description

This is a direct replacement bridge pickup for six-string guitars running tremolo spacing. It uses a ceramic 8 magnet in a direct-couple construction, which keeps the magnet in contact with the pole pieces rather than relying on a gap — a build choice that tends toward higher output and tighter low-end response. DC resistance measures 12.6k ohms. The baseplate is solid nickel/silver. Pole pieces are nickel-plated carbon steel, six adjustable and six fixed pan-head.

Two things decide whether this pickup fits your guitar. First, spacing: this pickup is wound and spaced for tremolo-bridge position — 53mm string spacing. A neck-spaced pickup dropped into a bridge route will leave the outer strings sitting off the pole pieces, which kills even string-to-string balance. Measure your existing bridge pickup before ordering. Second, string count: this is a six-string pickup and is not interchangeable with seven- or eight-string units. Also check your mounting situation — direct-mount bodies and ring-mount bodies need different hardware, and what ships with this pickup may not suit both.

The four-conductor harness supports split-coil wiring. If your control cavity is already wired for a push-pull or push-push pot, you can wire the coil split without adding hardware. If it is not, you will need to modify the wiring before the split function works.

If you are not certain this is the right pickup for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will check it against what we have on the bench.
