Description

The Schecter 6113 Sunset Strip is a six-string bridge pickup built around a Ceramic 8 direct-couple magnet. Ceramic magnets push output harder than alnico and compress differently — they emphasise attack and let the pickup cut through dense mixes without washing out. Measured DC resistance is 12.6k ohms. The four-conductor harness means the coils can be split, giving you single-coil tones from the same route without rewiring. The baseplate is solid nickel/silver.

Two things decide whether this pickup fits your guitar. First, string count: this is a six-string pickup. It will not line up correctly in a seven- or eight-string route. Second, pole spacing: bridge pickups on tremolo-equipped guitars run wider than neck pickups, and this one is spec'd at 49mm Traditional Spacing. Put a neck-spaced pickup in a bridge route and the outer strings sit off the poles. Measure your existing pickup's spacing before ordering — do not guess from the guitar model alone. Also check your mounting arrangement: direct-mount bodies and pickguard or ring-mount bodies require different hardware, and that hardware is not always interchangeable.

Pole pieces are nickel-plated carbon steel — six cylindrical poles and six #5 slot pan-head Phillips screws, which are the adjustable side. Carbon steel pole pieces work with the ceramic magnet to tighten the low end and add definition under heavy gain. These are the parts most likely to show corrosion on a pickup that has been sitting; if your existing pickup has pitting here that is affecting output, replacement is the straightforward fix.

If you are not certain this is the correct pickup for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
