The Schecter 6086 SuperCharger Mach-7 is a seven-string neck pickup built around a split-coil, four-conductor design. The split coil gives you a humbucker in full mode and the option to tap to a single coil via the four-conductor harness — useful if your switching system supports it. Output is 12.0k ohms. The central magnet is a proprietary high-mass ceramic-barium impregnated unit, and the fourteen pole pieces are .25" nickel-plated carbon steel, which gives the pole pieces more surface area than a standard-diameter design and helps with string-to-string balance across a seven-string spread.
Two things decide whether this pickup fits your guitar. First, string count: this is a seven-string pickup. It will not cover the string spread on a six-string guitar, and it will not reach the eighth string on an eight-string. Second, spacing: this pickup is wound to 60mm universal spacing, which is the neck position dimension on most seven-string guitars. Using a neck-spaced pickup in a bridge route leaves the outer strings off-axis with the pole pieces. Confirm the spacing of your existing route before ordering. Also check your mounting hardware — direct-mount bodies and pickguard or ring-mount bodies require different baseplate arrangements, and what is in the guitar now is your reference.
The baseplate is engraved powder-coated aircraft aluminum. If your current pickup is failing at the baseplate — cracking, corroding, or losing a mounting tab — that is worth checking before you seat a replacement, because the route and pickup height will both be affected.
