Schecter positioned the C-8 Deluxe LH within its extended-range C-series line as a left-handed eight-string instrument built on a bolt-on construction with a basswood body and a maple neck. The flat-top body with bevel edge and the Thin 'C' neck profile reflected Schecter's approach to an ergonomic, low-mass platform for the extended scale demands of eight-string playing.
The 28" (711mm) scale length accommodates the additional string tension inherent to the format. The maple neck carries a rosewood fretboard with a 16" (406mm) radius and 24 narrow X-Jumbo frets, with 4mm dot inlays as positional markers. The nut is graphite, cut to a 2.125" (54mm) width, and the truss rod is a two-way adjustable unit accessed via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. Hardware is finished in chrome throughout, including metal knurled knobs with set screws. The bridge is a Tune-O-Matic with string-through-body anchoring. Both pickup positions carry Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, controlled by a volume, tone, and three-way toggle arrangement. Tuners are Schecter-branded units. The instrument was produced in Indonesia in a Satin Black finish.
Owners requiring setup adjustments, nut replacement, or parts sourcing for the Tune-O-Matic bridge or string-through anchoring hardware should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with extended-range instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
