Schecter built the DJ Ashba Acoustic as a signature model within its acoustic line, designed in collaboration with guitarist DJ Ashba. The guitar was constructed using a dovetail set-neck joint and a flat-top body in mahogany, topped with a solid spruce top, and finished in Carbon Grey with black hardware and black single-ply binding throughout.
The maple neck carries a thin 'C' profile and an ebony fretboard with 22 narrow X-jumbo frets, a 16" (406mm) radius, and a 25.5" (648mm) scale length. The bone nut measures 1.693" (43mm) wide. Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners handle tuning stability, while the Birds on a Wire inlay pattern runs the length of the fretboard. Electronics consist of a Fishman Sonicore Piezo bridge pickup paired with a Fishman Isys+ preamp, offering on-board volume, bass, treble, a phase switch, and a built-in chromatic tuner. The battery compartment doubles as the output jack housing. Truss rod adjustment is handled via a two-way adjustable rod with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. The SGR-13AC case was sold separately.
Owners requiring setup work, truss rod adjustment, or sourcing of compatible replacement parts — including Grover Rotomatic tuners, Fishman Isys+ preamp components, or Fishman Sonicore Piezo elements — should consult a qualified luthier or experienced guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
