Description

Schecter built the DJ Ashba model as a signature instrument tied to the artist of the same name, positioning it within the company's artist signature line. The guitar was produced in South Korea with a bolt-on construction and an alder body finished with black single-ply binding and a flat top contour.

The maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile — measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth — and terminates at a Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking nut (1.625" / 41.3mm width). The ebony fretboard runs a 14" (355mm) radius across 22 X-Jumbo frets and is inlaid with the signature Birds on a Wire pattern. A Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge handles tuning stability, backed by Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners, all finished in black hardware. The pickup configuration pairs an EMG 81 at the bridge with a Sustainiac system at the neck, governed by a dedicated 2-way on/off switch and a 3-way mode switch (Fundamental, Mix, Harmonic). Power for the active electronics draws from a double 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. Strings left the factory as Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Floyd Rose 1500 Series saddles, the Sustainiac driver unit, or EMG 81 mounting hardware — should verify fit against these documented specifications and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup and installation work.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
