Schecter positioned the Demon-8 as an extended-range, down-tuning instrument within its Demon series, built on a bolt-on construction with a basswood body and an arched top. The guitar was manufactured in Indonesia and was finished in Aged Black Satin, with aged creme 1-ply binding and black chrome hardware throughout.
The maple neck, reinforced with carbon fiber rods, carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, and terminates at a 2.125" wide Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut. The 28" scale wenge fretboard features 24 X-jumbo frets on a 16" radius, with grey pearloid Gothic Cross inlays. Tuning stability is handled by Schecter tuners, with a Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge employing string-through-body stringing. Both pickup positions carry Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers, powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment, and the control layout runs Volume, Tone, and a 3-way switch with metal knurled, set-screw knobs.
