Schecter built the Demon-6 FR as an active, floyd-equipped six-string within its Demon series, positioned as a high-output instrument aimed at players requiring a locking vibrato system and active electronics. It was manufactured in Indonesia with a bolt-on construction and an arched-top basswood body finished in Aged Black Satin.
The maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth, and is topped with a wenge fretboard wearing 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 14" radius. Grey Pearloid Gothic Cross inlays mark the positions. The 25.5" scale runs to a Floyd Rose Special locking nut at 1.625" width, while the Floyd Rose Special bridge handles vibrato duties — both finished in black chrome along with the remaining hardware. Pickups are a matched pair of Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers in bridge and neck positions, drawing power from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Controls are a straightforward volume, tone, and 3-way switch arrangement on metal knurled knobs with set screws. Aged Creme 1-ply binding trims the body. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 #2621 (.010–.056).
