Description

Schecter built the Demon-6 as an extended-range-adjacent, high-output bolt-on instrument positioned in the more accessible tier of their lineup. The Demon-6 carried an arched-top basswood body with aged creme 1-ply binding, a maple neck joined via bolt-on construction, and a wenge fretboard dressed with grey pearloid gothic cross inlays — a combination that placed it firmly within Schecter's darker-aesthetic series.

The 25.5-inch scale runs across 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 14-inch radius fretboard, with a Thin 'C' neck profile measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. The 42mm Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut feeds into a Tune-O-Matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring. Both pickup positions carry Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers, controlled through a volume, tone, and 3-way switch arrangement with metal knurled knobs; active electronics are powered via a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome. Schecter-branded tuners and a 2-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch allen nut complete the specification. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.

Owners seeking replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, Tune-O-Matic saddles, or active pickup batteries — should cross-reference the stated dimensions carefully, and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup, truss rod adjustment, or any structural work.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
