Description

Schecter built the Demon-7 as an extended-range, active-pickup bolt-on guitar positioned in their Demon series. Constructed in Indonesia, it was designed around a baritone-scale, seven-string configuration intended for heavy playing styles, featuring a basswood body with an arched top, aged creme 1-ply binding, and a maple neck joined by bolt-on construction.

The 26.5" (673mm) scale runs across a wenge fretboard fitted with 24 X-Jumbo frets, a 16" (406mm) radius, and grey pearloid gothic cross inlays. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq measuring 1.889" (48mm) wide, and the neck profile is a Thin 'C' shape measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. Both the bridge and neck positions carry Schecter Diamond Active HB-105S humbuckers, powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge uses string-through-body stringing. Hardware throughout is black chrome, and controls consist of a volume knob, tone knob, and 3-way switch, all with metal knurled set-screw knobs. The two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. Schecter tuners are fitted at the headstock.

Owners seeking replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, HB-105S pickup modules, or string-through hardware — should bring the instrument to a qualified guitar technician, who can also advise on setup adjustments appropriate to the 26.5" scale and the fitted Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 (.010–.056) string gauges.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
