Schecter built the Robert Smith UltraCure (Item No. 364) as a signature model, positioning it within the UltraCure line as a specification-heavy instrument tailored to the artist's requirements. The guitar is finished in Red Burst and was manufactured in South Korea.
Construction is set-neck with Ultra Access, built around a chambered mahogany body with a flat top and raised center contour. The three-piece maple neck carries a Thin 'C' profile — .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth — and a 25.5" scale rosewood fretboard with a 14" radius, 24 X-Jumbo frets, mother-of-pearl block inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.653" width, and the truss rod is a two-way adjustable unit accessed with a 5/32" Allen key. Hardware is finished in chrome throughout. The bridge is a Bigsby Flat Top B50 paired with a roller TonePros TOM (TPFR - T3BT). Pickups are a Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N at the neck and a Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1B at the bridge, controlled by a three-way switch and a layout of two push-pull volume pots plus a master volume, all fitted with metal knurled set-screw knobs. Schecter locking tuners handle tuning stability. The guitar ships strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 (No. 2221). A dedicated UltraCure G&G hardcase (No. 981) was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Bigsby-compatible hardware, TonePros roller bridges, Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nuts, or Seymour Duncan '59-series pickups — should consult a qualified guitar technician to confirm fit against the original specifications before installation.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
