Schecter built the Chris Howorth V-7 (item 334) as a signature model for the guitarist, positioning it within their artist series as a seven-string instrument. The guitar was finished in Satin Black and manufactured in South Korea.
Construction followed a set-neck joint with Schecter's Ultra Access heel. The three-piece mahogany neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods and was shaped to a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The ebony fretboard carried 24 X-Jumbo frets on a 16" radius, with a mother of pearl snake cross inlay at the twelfth fret. Nut duties fell to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.889" width, and the two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" Allen nut. The baritone-length 26.5" scale fed into a TonePros seven-string tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body anchoring. The single EMG 707 bridge pickup is active, drawing power from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment, and output is governed by a single metal knurled volume knob. Schecter locking tuners and all-black hardware completed the specification. The guitar shipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 strings (.010–.056). The SGR-8V case was sold separately.
