Schecter built the RavenDark V FR Abbath Signature (item 287) as a dedicated signature instrument, finished in Gloss Black with Silver Pin Stripes and positioned toward players requiring an extended-range, high-output platform built around a Floyd Rose-equipped V-style body. The guitar was manufactured in South Korea and constructed with a set-neck joint featuring Ultra Access heel shaping.
The mahogany body carries a flat top with a bevel edge and single-ply white binding. The three-piece maple neck is reinforced with carbon fiber rods and joins a 25.5-inch (648 mm) scale ebony fretboard. Neck dimensions measure .748 inch (19 mm) at the first fret and .787 inch (20 mm) at the twelfth, shaped to an Ultra Thin 'C' profile. The fretboard runs a 12–16-inch compound radius under 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets, with Mother of Pearl RavenDark inlays and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. The nut is a Floyd Rose 1500 Series unit at 1.625 inches (41.3 mm) wide, and a two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch (4 mm) Allen nut allows neck correction. Tuning is handled by Grover Rotomatic 18:1 machines with black hardware throughout. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge pairs with an EMG 57 F bridge pickup and an EMG 66 neck pickup; controls run to a volume knob, a tone knob, and a three-way switch. Knobs are metal knurled with set screws, and the instrument routes power through a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Strings were shipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 (no. 2221). A case was not included at time of original sale; the SGR-17MV case was sold separately.
Owners carrying out setup, fret work, or pickup and battery wiring on this instrument should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with Floyd Rose-equipped electrics and active EMG circuitry.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
